Green Teas

Green Tea And Their Health Benefits

Green Tea

Over the years green teas have become popular due to the health benefits they contain.

For medicinal purpose they rank among the top 10 health drinks important to humans

What are Green teas?

They are the green leaf tips of the tea plant, camellia sinensis, that have been dried without any cutting or tearing (which encourages the leaf to oxidize or ferment, turn brown and to develop bigger, bolder more acidic flavors through the accompanying development of caffeine.) The whole leaves can be cut after drying and will not then change colour or ferment which helps it to retain their medicinal purpose.

Green teas can be enjoyed as a warm or hot drink that relaxes the body system. Green teas retain many antioxidants that would disappear if they were fermented, and contain little to no caffeine

Some of the health benefits are:

  1. They boost brain function
  2. They are rich in antioxidants
  3. They lower bad cholesterols
  4. They speed up metabolism and aid digestion
  5. They improve skin health
  6. They keep the blood sugar level in check

Green tea should be consumed to reap the maximum benefit and this largely it depends on the person and their own personal health. Different amounts of green tea every day will benefit you in various ways.

But, consumption depends on how much your body can tolerate. Adding green tea to your diet is beneficial, but as long as you are drinking a cup or more a day, that’s great!
